Sony Xperia PRO Size

The new Sony Xperia PRO has an oblong 21:9 aspect ratio display and 643 ppi. That’s more than twice the resolution of most competing phones. The screen itself is narrower, but it still offers superior image quality compared to 1080p hardware. The phone has a pentile sub-pixel formation and a true pixel density of over 400 ppi. Other features include a dual-core processor and 32GB of internal storage.

Sony Xperia PRO Materials & Ports

The chassis of the Xperia Pro I is made of glass and metal. The camera button is large and distinct from the rest of the phone, which is great for photographers. The camera button is also positioned on the side and is a dedicated shutter button. Interestingly, the device also has a dedicated HDMI port. The screen itself is large, resulting in an excellent viewing experience. The rear of the Xperia Pro comes with a micro-HDMI port. The Sony ‘pro’ looks somewhat utilitarian, but it is also a good looking device.

While the Xperia Pro lacks a dedicated HDMI port, it does have a USB-C port and a headphone/microphone jack on the top edge. It also has a lanyard loop for wrist straps. On the back, you’ll find the USB-C port and the 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s hard to see which is better, but it is certainly better than nothing.

Sony Xperia PRO Camera, Lens & Video

Despite lacking a telephoto lens and macro mode, the camera is still excellent. The Xperia Pro’s camera has three lenses, each offering an equivalent focal length of 16mm, 24mm, and 50mm. While the interface is not professional-grade, it is user-friendly and a lot better than most other smartphones. The camera also has video capabilities. If you’re planning on shooting HD video, you’ll find plenty of ways to capture it.

The Sony Xperia PRO has the same camera setup as the Xperia 1 II. It has three rear-facing 12 MP sensors and a 3D iToF sensor. The front-facing camera is an 8MP shooter with an F2.0 aperture. The main camera is also the only thing that can be changed in the Xperia PRO. The front-facing camera has a megapixel-based auto-focus system and is capable of taking pictures in bright sunlight.

Sony Xperia PRO Network & Design

The screen is the most impressive part of this smartphone. The Xperia PRO is optimized for Verizon’s mmWave network. The phone’s camera is also very responsive and features a lot of customization. Unlike other phones, the Sony Xperia PRO has a white-colored logo etched into the plastic. Hence, it is the first 5G phone to be released in the US.

The Xperia PRO ships with Android 10 with Xperia UI. Though Sony usually sticks to a “soft approach” when it comes to custom skins, the Xperia PRO has a similar design and is very well-suited for a variety of uses. With its dual-core processor, the smartphone is a powerful smartphone. The battery life is surprisingly good, with the phone weighing 211g.
